Optional Features setting

Microsoft’s next big update Windows 10 20H1 is expected to come with minor improvements for the Optional Features setting page.

Windows 10’s Settings app comes with an Optional Features page which allows users to manage, install, and uninstall optional features such as Windows Media Player. The company is working on adding new tools to further enhance the Optional Features setting.

Windows 10 20H1 could add support for sorting and searching on the Optional Features page, so you can easily search for a feature or sort the list by its name or download size.

For example, if you want to uninstall Windows Media Player, you can use the search box and find the item quickly instead of manually scrolling through the long list.

Microsoft is also planning to remove regional packs from the list of optional features.

The new and improved version is currently in internal testing and is expected to be pushed out to insiders in the upcoming builds.

Other leaked Windows 10 20H1 improvements

Microsoft is also working on several other improvements for Windows 10 20H1, including inline text suggestion feature when typing with the hardware keyboard.

Windows 10 leak recently revealed that Microsoft is working on a new version of Start Menu and Control Center, though these changes may not ship with Windows 10 20H1.

Microsoft is expected to release Windows 10 20H1 to all devices in the spring of 2020 and preview builds are already available for users enrolled in the Fast Ring.
