As Microsoft’s October event is just around the corners, more and more details of the upcoming Surface lineup is appearing online. We have high expectations for a new Surface Laptop 3 with AMD processors (CPUs) and a rumour yesterday claimed that the device might ship with eight-core CPU.
According to reports, Surface Laptop 3’s 15-inch model may include a Ryzen 5 3550U or Ryzen 7 3750U CPU option, the quad-core CPUs.
According to a new Benchmark on Geekbench that we spotted, it does appear that Microsoft is finally ready to ditch Intel for AMD in its Surface Laptop 3. The benchmarked product is ‘OEMMO OEMMO Product Name’, Microsoft has used a similar codename for the original Surface Go last year.
This benchmark raises the possibility that there could be a Surface Laptop 3 with a quad-core processor from AMD and Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx.
It’s also worth noting that a benchmark for ‘OEMMO OEMMO Product Name DV’ has been spotted on 3dmark benchmarks and the vendor is listed as Microsoft, as shown in the screenshot below:
Here are the rumoured price and specs chart of the device:
- Surface Laptop 3 with AMD Ryzen 5 3550U and 8GB of RAM for $999.
- Surface Laptop 3 with AMD Ryzen 7 3750U and 8GB of RAM for $1,099.
- Surface Laptop 3 with Hexa-core AMD CPU and 12GB of RAM for $1,599 $1,399.
