Microsoft last year launched its HealthVault Insights app for all platforms iOS, Android and Windows. HealthVault is a health care related initiatives and solutions which is a research based project of Microsoft.

The app was designed to generate details about patients health which is powered by machine learning. Today the Redmond Giant announced that it has now decided to discontinue the HealthVault Insights mobile app. The mobile app which is available on all platforms iOS, Android and Windows will be removed later this month.

The users have been advised to use the HealthVault Insights website going forward and all their health data can be generated and accessible via the website. The company in a statement said:

“We launched HealthVault Insights as a research project last year, with the goal of helping patients generate new insights about their health. Since then, we’ve learned a lot about how machine learning can be used to increase patient engagement and are now applying that knowledge to other projects.”

The main features of the HealthVault Insights app is that it was a cross platform supporting app which also connected with Apple Health and Google Fit. The app provided with a Fingertip access to all patient’s health records and also provided access to personalization and notifications to increase patient engagement.

The most important feature of the app was its Integration with Microsoft’s Digital Assistant Cortana allowing patients to see how their calendar and location was impacting their health.
