Microsoft has recently announced a new feature called ‘Skip Ahead‘ that would let Insiders test Redstone 4 builds ahead of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update public release. The Fall Creators Update builds will now only have the bug fixes. However, the Fast Ring + Skip Ahead feature will allow you to test builds from the development branch.

Windows 10 PCs in the fast ring will continue to receive new builds. If you are in the fast ring and have the Skip Ahead feature enabled, you will receive builds from the development branch.

  • Fast ring: Builds from RS3_RELEASE branch with no inbox app updates.
  • Fast ring + Skip Ahead: Builds from RS_PRERELEASE with inbox app updates from the Store.

The post on the Insider Hub has no mention of Windows 10 Mobile which created confusion among the Windows Insiders. A Microsoft employee shared the sad news with Insiders on Twitter.

Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc has now confirmed on Twitter that Windows 10 Mobile won’t have the Skip Ahead feature. “Mobile is continuing normally with no Skip Ahead option,” he wrote. Just like the Redstone 3, Windows 10 Mobile is also not getting the Redstone 4 builds.

However, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed whether or not Windows 10 Mobile will receive Redstone 4 builds. Windows 10 Mobile is expected to receive some major improvements with CShell. Microsoft is currently testing the update for Windows 10 Mobile internally. The recent leaks even confirmed the Windows Phone reboot plans of the company.
