Windows Phones will start receiving Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update on April 25. Microsoft has scheduled to release Windows 10 Creators Update for PCs and Tablets on April 11. However, the company will release the update to selected phones after two weeks of desktop release.

Remember, when Microsoft has released Windows 10 Mobile update to Windows Phone 8.1 Devices, only selected phones were eligible for update? The history is going to repeat once again. Microsoft has planned to release Windows 10 Mobile Creators to selected Windows Phones and the list is very small this time.

ZDNet reports that many Windows Phones are not going to be part of the roll out. You can find the list below.

Elegiable phones for Windows 10 Moile Cretaors Update

  • Alcatel IDOL 4S
  • Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
  • HP Elite x3
  • Lenovo Softbank 503LV

  • Microsoft Lumia 640/640XL

Microsoft has noted that some phones may not be able to receive the Creators Update if the device hardware is incompatible, lacking current drivers, or otherwise outside of the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (‘OEM’) support period.

Powerful Windows Phones like Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 aren’t even part of the list. However, you can still get Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update by joining Windows Insider program and downloading preview builds.

    • M Rankin

The problem is if your on production ring waiting for the update

      • 000

Yes…I have a question, if now I do a backup and after i return on production ring, in the future i can restore this backup?…or I need to do the jail break?

        • M Rankin

          yes that would still work

    • Mayank Parmar

The problem will occur when you will try to download preview builds on unsupported phones. Apparently, after some time, you won’t be able to install builds on unsupported phones!

Ok, for me is normal that after some years is impossible update the phone…but if you really need to upgrade there are tools to jail break your phone…

This is not an official story, and the Creators Update will be on all Windows 10 phones.
