Back at Build 2017 event, Microsoft announced a new feature called ‘Story Remix‘ for Windows 10. The new feature is coming to Windows 10 with the Fall Creators Update. Story Remix is one of the best features Microsoft announced for the OS this year. It basically lets you create videos, add 3D effects and more to the stories.

Story Remix should have come with a separate app but Microsoft is adding the feature to the Photos app as an extension. Just a few days ago, Microsoft released an update to the Photos and changed the app’s name to Story Remix. The Windows Insiders argued that the ‘Story Remix’ name for Photos app literally makes no sense.

There had been mixed emotions from the Insiders and later Microsoft finally rolled back the changes. Today, Microsoft is updating the Photos app for the non-Insiders and the update has changed the name to Story Remix.

We don’t know if it was done intentionally but still, the name makes no sense considering the basic feature of the app is to view the Photos stored on the device. With the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update set to ship out on October 17, it remains to be seen whether or not Story Remix is going to be the final name for the Photos app.
