Microsoft has rolled out a major update to Windows Maps on Windows 10 Mobile Devices with some major improvements. The latest update is available on Windows 10 Mobile Devices for Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Ring.

Windows Maps on Windows 10 Mobile has been updated to versionĀ 5.1705.1391.0. Microsoft has introduced major design changes with the latest update. The UI has been updated with Fluent Design changes.

Earlier the update was available for Windows 10 PCs and Tablets. However, now Microsoft has updated the app on Windows 10 Mobile. The Fluent Design has introduced transparency to the app’s interface.

Microsoft has been readying its Fluent Design System, a way to easily create cross-device experiences that look right on a variety of screen shapes and sizes. Itā€™s intended to help apps work correctly across everything from phones, through tablets, to laptops and desktop PCs with big displays. However, the Fluent Design System is about more than just screens. Indeed, itā€™s also intended to embrace devices that might have no screen at all, such as wearables or Cortana-powered smart speakers. Microsoft says the Fluent Design System will be able to cope with apps that interact through touch, ink, voice, gaze, and gesture, in addition to the traditional keyboard and mouse.
