In case you are still using a Windows 10 PC with April 2018 Update, a new optional cumulative update is rolling out to advanced users. Windows 10 KB4489894 direct download links are also live on Update Catalog to allow users to manually install the cumulative update.

Windows 10 Build 17134.677 is for April 2018 Update (version 1803) machines only. To check the version of Windows 10 you are using, head to the Settings > System > About. If it is version 1803, you are on Windows 10 April 2018 Update and you are eligible for the update. Version 1809 represents Windows 10 October 2018 Update.

Windows 10 Build 17134.677 addresses several bugs in April 2018 Update, including an issue where Windows lock screen prevented users from unlocking a device after multiple smart card users have used the same device.

  • Addresses an issue that causes a device to periodically stop responding when using an East Asian locale.
  • Addresses a reliability issue that may cause a laptop screen to remain black after resuming from Sleep if you close the lid when disconnecting from a docking station.
  • Addresses an issue with the Group Policy, “Turn off app notifications on the lock screen”.
  • Addresses an issue with the Windows lock screen that prevents users from unlocking a device after multiple smart card users have used the same device. This issue occurs when you attempt to use a workstation that another user has locked.

A cumulative update for Windows 10 October 2018 Update is also expected to land soon and it may include similar fixes.
