It has been months since Microsoft stopped releasing app updates to Windows 10 Mobile Insiders on the Fast Ring and even Slow Ring. At that time, Microsoft promised that the Insiders will soon start receiving the latest first-party app updates from the Windows Store. “In order to provide Windows customers with the highest quality inbox apps possible, we will pause testing new versions of our inbox apps with Windows Insiders,” said Microsoft.

Microsoft is still updating the first-party apps for Windows 10 Mobile but only on the Release Preview Ring. For those who want latest app updates are advised to roll back to Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update and enrol in the Release Preview Ring.

It appears that the things will change now, starting next month or November. Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc has confirmed that the Windows 10 Mobile Insiders will once again receive the latest app updates after the release of Fall Creators Update. Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update aka feature2 update is coming after the PC release, however, currently, there is no ETA.

Microsoft later also confirmed that the feature2 is being called Fall Creators Update for Mobile. If your phone is on the Fast Ring, you should not roll back to the Creators Update as Microsoft will once again resume the rollout of latest app updates. Windows 10 Mobile Fast Ring Insiders have very outdated apps, even the Fluent Design changes aren’t present in the apps. For the first time, Release Preview Ring Insiders are ahead of the Fast Ring Insiders.
