Announced last September 2014, Microsoft let users participate to build the next version of Windows via Windows Insider Program. Insiders will have an access for early builds which were only available to developers back then. The program has 6 rings (3 internal and 3 public rings) namely Canary, Windows and Devices Group, Microsoft, Fast, Slow, and Release Preview rings.

Some insiders are clamoring that the team behind this program is not listening to their feedbacks. Recently in Twitter, the head of the Windows Insider Program, Dona Sarkar responded to a tweet telling what an insider should be.

Many raised their eyebrows because of this explanation. As per Dona, they just push the builds to insiders for them to rate it and that’s it. She later responded to disappointed insiders.

So let’s take a look at the top 10 feedback for Windows 10 PC and see if they are really ignored or not.

Thank you for your suggestion and feedback. It’s great to see so much enthusiasm for OneDrive placeholders in file explorer.  While we can’t promise to ship every suggestion that gets submitted, we have passed this feedback on to our team to make them aware of what customers are asking for in file explorer.  Keep those suggestions and votes coming! We’ll keep you updated here if there are any updates in this area.

We are excited to announce that starting with build 14342, both AdBlock and Adblock Plus extensions are now available for download in the Windows Store.  It is recommended that you only install one of either AdBlock or Adblock Plus as having them both running at the same time can cause issues with viewing websites in Microsoft Edge.

Thanks for your feedback on adding Downvotes in addition to Upvotes.  We’re listening to your feedback on this idea as we continue to improve the Feedback Hub.  Thanks!

Implemented: No

To summed up, 5/10 were already implemented/fixed/resolved, 2/10 are “looking into it”, 3/10 are received.

We should understand that all feedbacks are welcome but not all will be implemented. Feedback is just a part of a whole picture. There are also other factors that need to be considered before making it happen. Some features might appear in insider builds but will not make it to the public. Nonetheless, looks like the Windows Insider Program is still a two-way collaboration between Microsoft and Windows Insiders. Let us appreciate all the efforts and hard work both by Microsoft and Windows Insiders.
