The Always-Connected Windows 10 PCs powered by Snapdragon 835 and 850 chipsets have seen mixed results and reviews. Snapdragon 8cx has turned out to be more capable processor and it can directly compete with Intel Core i5 CPU.

Qualcomm appears to be working a new lineup of affordable Snapdragon chipsets for Always Connected PCs. In future, you’ll be able to pick up a Snapdragon-powered 2-in-1 device for as low as $300.

In a podcast, Qualcomm vice president said the company wants to see Snapdragon chips in a wide range of PCs, including devices priced around $300. This could mean that upcoming Snapdragon PCs with Windows 10 will be finally affordable and it could compete head-to-head with Intel’s offerings.

The price of the most affordable Snapdragon-powered PC is $599 currently. Always-Connected PCs are expensive and they fail to target masses.

In the podcast, Qualcomm reportedly said that cheaper Snapdragon laptops ranging between $300 and $800 will be released soon as the new platform is arriving in the coming months.

It wouldn’t be surprising if some PC opt to offer both Windows and Chrome OS models of Snapdragon-powered devices.
