Fall Creators Update

After releasing Build 17134.286 for Windows 10 April 2018 Update, Microsoft has also released a new patch for those running Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709). As always, the direct download links for Windows 10 KB4464217 are also available via Microsoft’s update catalog.

While it’s a bit surprising to see new cumulative updates launching this fast, it’s important to note that Windows 10 KB4464217 correct only two different bugs in the OS. This patch advances the Windows 10 build number to 16299.666.

If you’re still using Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you’re recommended to upgrade to Windows 10 April 2018 Update. But if you prefer Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you can download today’s patch and address the bugs.

It’s important to know that Build 17134 represents Windows 10 April 2018 Update and Build 16299 represents Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. You can check the system version from Settings -> System -> About.

  • This patch includes fixes for VPN connection bug. In the changelog, Microsoft explains that a bug where VPN connection would fail to establish has been addressed.
  • The company is also deploying a fix to address compatibility issues with Microsoft Intune. Several customers reported that after installing updates that were released between July 24, 2018 and September 11, 2018, Windows was no longer able to recognize (PFX) which resulted in the failure of Microsoft Intune service.
