WhatsApp yesterday released a new update for its Web/Desktop application. The update comes with some new and cool features for the Web application. The latest update introduces two new but hidden features.

The team is working on improving the group reply feature which will allow users to privately reply to a message received in a group. Users will be able to see a new “Reply privately” option, and WhatsApp will automatically open the chat with contact to send the message. Also the sent message will be quoted in the group.

Another new feature Picture in Picture is also in works and users will be able to watch sent and received videos in a separated window. You will be able to see a new icon when you are watching the video and when selected, the Picture in Picture will start with the selected video in a new window and a new UI.

These two features are currently in works and still under development and will be pushed out to the public after successful testing. The latest update to the Web version has been bumped to 0.2.7315.

We will be letting our users know when the above hidden features are available for public access. To update the WhatsApp Web users would need to clear the cache of your web browser.
