Microsoft is today rolling out a new patch with general bug fixes for Windows 10 version 1803 via Windows Update. As always, the direct download links for KB4338548 are also live on Microsoft’s Update Catalog website for Windows 10 64-bit and 32-bit.
This is the third patch for Windows 10 April 2018 Update, also known as Windows version 1803 and the next patch will be released on Tuesday. Microsoft today released a minor update for Windows 10 version 1803, and it includes only one fix. The update advances the systems to Windows 10 Build 17134.83 and it would appear as KB4338548 in Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update.
We’re only a few days away from this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle, so it apparently makes sense for Microsoft to include only one necessary fix. Microsoft is addressing some issues with Intuit QuickBooks Desktop. Of course, this isn’t a widespread bug that’s hitting a significant number of systems.

KB4338548 Windows 10 17134.83 Full Changelog
Microsoft in the changelog explains that Windows 10 KB4338548 addresses an issue where 2017 and 2018 versions of Intuit QuickBooks Desktop can’t run in multi-user mode. The bug was causing the QuickBooks multi-user mode service to fail to start with an error.
As compared to its predecessors, it comes with just a single fix. So it’s likely that Microsoft will bundle more fixes with the next cumulative update scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. There are many issues out there that Microsoft needs to fix with the next cumulative update, including the black screen and blank desktop issues.
If the reports from the forum are believed to be, the experience with Windows 10 April 2018 Update has so far been buggy on some systems. It is, however, worth noting that the majority of users have said that Windows 10 April 2018 Update is more stable than any previous version of the operating system.
Microsoft isn’t aware of any issues with Windows 10 Build 17134.83, and as it’s a minor update, no failed installs or other bugs should be experienced during the installation.
As noted above, Microsoft will begin rolling out next patch on June 12 to include many more fixes and improvements to address all the complaints posted online.
You’re recommended to install KB4338548. You can download the patch from Windows Update or Microsoft’s Update Catalog.
