Several reports have revealed exciting details about Microsoft’s rumoured new hardware, and yet another rumour claims that Surface Pro 6 will launch next year. The report adds that the “heavily redesigned” Surface Pro 6 won’t be ready until mid-2019, and the low-cost device is believed to be the first one to see daylight.

Microsoft’s next-generation powerful Surface Pro lineup is reportedly called Surface Pro 6, and the company is still working on the device. The device is internally codenamed Carmel, and it could be introduced in mid-2019 with a major redesign, and USB-C is one of the features that could be finally embraced by Microsoft to stay on a par with the industry standards.

It’s worth noting that the name which company is planning to use is not known at this point. No specifics are available on this redesign either.

Iterative updates for Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Laptop planned

In addition, Microsoft is readying new variants of the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, and they may be getting faster Intel 8th-gen processor, but the support for USB Type C is still uncertain. It appears to be more about the annual hardware upgrade, and the Surface Laptop with slightly upgraded hardware could be unveiled in the fall of the year.

It appears that Microsoft is also working on new Surface-branded accessories, and we may not see a new Surface dock until late 2019.

And last but not least, it’s believed that Microsoft plans to launch unveil the Surface Hub 2 next year, and the next-generation HoloLens will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2019. The report also suggests that Microsoft has codenamed the HoloLens 2 as Sydney.

The Hololens 2 will be cheaper, lighter and better than the first-generation headset, according to the reports.

At this point, everything is a rumour, so the release date of Surface Pro 6 and other devices could be could be easily pushed back should any issue be discovered.

Needless to say, Microsoft is very committed to the company’s hardware lineup. We’ve also heard that a new Surface tablet with the 10-inch display could be released later this year.

The details about Microsoft’s rumoured new Surface Pro 6, new Xbox console, HoloLens 2 and the Andromeda mobile device sounds very exciting. Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
