Wileyfox is one of the companies that have shown interest in new Windows Phones on the market regardless of the fact that Microsoft has put Windows 10 Mobile in maintenance mode last year. A couple of months ago, German company Trekstor also tried to launch a Windows Phone with help of a crowdfunding campaign, but the company failed to attract backers.

Wileyfox, a UK-based company which launched a new Windows Phone handset called the Wileyfox Pro back in December recently entered administration. The Wileyfox was in financial trouble, and at that time the future of Wileyfox Pro was dark. “Wileyfox Europe Limited is in Administration. Andrew Andronikou and Andrew Hosking are appointed joint administrators and act jointly and severely without personal liability,” the employee said on Reddit.

In March, a company called STK had struck a deal with Wileyfox Group to sell devices on various markets and provide after sales service to both new and old customers. The Wileyfox Android phones are once again available in the UK, Europe, and South Africa.

Wileyfox Pro Windows Phone

It appears that Wileyfox has once again started selling the Windows Phone on its online website. Wileyfox Pro powered by Windows 10 Mobile operating system is available for £199.99. The future of the Wileyfox’s Windows Phone seems to be bright as the company is still committed to the device despite Microsoft basically abandoning the platform.

Wileyfox, the parent company has already confirmed that the Windows 10 Mobile handset is primarily aimed at businesses.

Wileyfox says that the phone will be supported until mid-2020 and the new Windows 10 Mobile cumulative updates will be shipped. While Microsoft itself has confirmed that the Windows Phone has no future, the company will continue to provide users with monthly security and necessary updates.

The Windows Phone from Wileyfox is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It comes with an average 8-megapixel primary camera and unfortunately, the design is underwhelming. There’s still no word as to whether the phone will launch in the United States or not.
