One more app is leaving the Windows Store, this time its Sky Go which allows you to watch TV from anywhere or any device i.e phone or PC. There are over 30 different channels that are included in Sky Home subscription.

The service on Sky Go for Windows and Windows Phone will stop from March 19 according to the company. The notice can be seen on their website and also a pop up in the app mentions the same.

“Starting March 19, the Sky Go app for Windows Phone and Windows Tablet will no longer be available, as it will not be able to support subsequent service updates. The periodic updating activity is necessary to continue to guarantee a quality vision experience and to introduce new functions that respond more and more to your needs.” Sky says in their notice.

The service will continue to be available through their website on a desktop. Sadly, you cannot access the service from both Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, even on a browser. Sky Go will continue to be available for:

  • iPhone and iPad with operating system equal to or higher than iOS 8.
  • Smartphones and tablets with an Android operating system equal to or greater than 4.4
    – PC / MAC.

It is not surprising to see yet another app leaving the Microsoft Store and users can expect more drop in app support for Windows Phone.
