Yesterday when Microsoft updated the Windows Store, the users started reporting that they are unable to update the apps on Windows 10 PCs and Mobiles. It was assumed that the bug was related to the new Microsoft Store. However, it appears that it has nothing to do with the new Windows Store update.

The good news is that Microsoft is already aware of the Windows Store apps update issue and it is being actively investigated. Microsoft’s senior employee has noted it is a server-side bug and it is affecting all devices. “We’re seeing that error on RS3 as well. Actively being investigated,” Microsoft’s senior employee confirmed.

It appears that Windows 10 devices with Redstone 2, Redstone 3 and Redstone 4 are affected by the server-side Windows Store bug. The first-party apps such as Windows Store, Outlook Mail & Calendar, Skype couldn’t be updated anymore. “All my investigation so far: likely service-side, hitting a wide range of builds/platforms, and appears to be MS apps (skype, mail, etc.), Jason said.

As Microsoft is actively working on to fix the bug, we can expect the Windows Store to be back next week. Meanwhile, if you would like to try the new Microsoft Store, you can download the appx and sideload it to your device.
