Windows 10 desktop update

Earlier this month, Microsoft released Windows 10 KB4482887 to fix Action Center bug, improve performance by enablingĀ RetpolineĀ on certain machines and address other problems. Yesterday, we discovered this Windows 10 cumulative update breaks down some games such as Destiny 2.

Today, Microsoft updated the support document to announce that the company is aware of an issue whereĀ KB4482887 may conflict with certain games and degrade the gaming performance. “After installing KB4482887, users may notice graphics and mouse performance degradation with desktop gaming when playing certain games (eg: Destiny 2),” Microsoft explains.

Microsoft says that it is working on a solution and users are advised to uninstall the update if they’re experiencing issues when running certain games.

“Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release. As a short-term resolution, users can uninstall KB4482887 to regain performance,” the company writes in the updated document.

It’s not known why the update is breaking down the performance of certain games. If you can’t bare with the gaming issues, you can uninstall the update from the Settings app.
