Microsoft is today pushing out a new update for the Cortana app for Android devices with some improvements and usual performance improvements and bug fixes. The updated version of Cortana is 2.9.7 and is available for all Android users.

This is the same update which was pushed to the Cortana Beta users on Android last week. The latest update for Cortana is a minor one and comes with two changes apart from bug fixes.

The latest update adds new reminder widget which  has been modified from the existing widget. We are not sure as to the exact changes made to the widget. The other things in the update include optimization and improvements for Microsoft’s Digital Assistant.

Apart from the above changes mentioned the update also comes with the usual set of bug  fixes and performance related improvements. As reported this is the same update which has been pushed out to the Beta version of the Cortana App on Android last week and after successful feedback the features are now available for the all Cortana users on Android.

The latest update to the Cortana app for Android is available and can be downloaded by clicking this Play Store link. Cortana is currently having over 150 million active users on all platforms and Microsoft has been regularly adding new features for its Digital Assistant available on all platforms.

Best feature of cortana that i like is cross platform availablity, even on being other platforms like android and iOS cortana can do all assistant related important tasks.

I definitely don’t want to use a personal assistant that forces me to use a particular ecosystem in the future and this is why I really like Cortana (on top of other unique features). It would feel like using the “free” email account provided by your internet provider… Thanks but no thanks…

Did Microsoft add the Bluetooth call and text notification feature to Android Cortana which already exists on Cortana for Windows phone? This is the feature where Cortana will interrupt my car’s audio when a phone call or text arrives and asks me how I would like to respond. This is an essential feature of Windows phone which has kept me from moving to Android.
