Microsoft has already given up on Windows Phone while the OEMs are still supporting the Windows 10 Mobile operating system. HP’s Elite x3 is one of the most popular and best flagship Windows Phone. HP was rumoured to be working on a successor to its Elite x3 with Windows 10. The unannounced new Elite x3 with Windows 10 sighted at MWC 2017 has been cancelled.

The successor is coming but the phone will be powered by Google’s Android operating system. HP is also giving up on Windows 10 Mobile after Microsoft and other OEMs. “HP supposedly “experimenting intensively with Android” as an alternative for (doomed) Windows 10 Mobile on its HP Elite x3,” Roland Quandt reports.

This is however not a surprising news as the recent reports confirmed that the existing phones won’t get the Andromeda OS update. As Microsoft has doomed Windows 10 Mobile, it makes no sense for any OEM to build a new Windows Phone.

With OEMs and fans giving up on Microsoft’s Windows Phone and the Surface Phone has been delayed – Do you think Microsoft will able to make a comeback to the smartphone market in 2019?
