But why?

Windows 10 October 2018 Update comes with some bugs but there’s a critical issue that removes the users content without any warning. In a statement, Microsoft recently confirmed that the company is investigating the reports and today the update has been pulled to save the users data.

For the time being, it’s not yet clear why and who is affected by the glitch as there’s no pattern.

It’s important to note that Windows 10 October 2018 Update was available for manual download. That means the update was never forced on any computer and users installed it by manually checking for updates or via Media Creation Tool.

Judging from the reports, it doesn’t appear to be a widespread issue.

Bugs in the feature update

As noted above, there are some bugs in Windows 10 October 2018 Update impacting some systems. First off, a issue was reported by users that suggest the Task Manager is partially broken. According to some users, the Task Manager fails to report the accurate CPU usage.

The second and the only critical issue is a bug that deletes the users content during the installation of Windows 10 version 1809.

It’s important to note that Windows 10 October Update has also received many postive feedback from the customers. The feature update delivers improved performance, acccesibility and features.

Microsoft is expected to re-release the Windows 10 October 2018 Update when the reported issue is resolved.
