Microsoft today pushed out a new update for its Skype Preview app for Android users. The app has been bumped to new version 8.14.76.6. The update comes with a new Call Snapshots feature along with the regular bug fixes and performance improvements.

The laetst Skype update is available for Android users enrolled in the Preview and have version 6.0 and above installed on their devices. The new feature “Call Snapshots” helps users in taking a photo of the video call and share the snapshot with your friend or family members you are chatting with.

To activate the Snapshot call feature, you would need to press the camera button in the lower left corner. You will then be able to see the photo on the call and in the chat. The photo from the chat can now be saved to the phone’s camera roll.

After the photo is saved in the camera roll, you will be able to forward, share, remove or upload to the Highlights section of the Skype application. As we have reported above, to get the new Call Snapshot feature you would need to be on Android device with version 6.0 and above installed and signed in as a Skype Insider.

The update also comes with the usual bug fixes and performance improvements to the application on Android along with the new features. The update is currently live and can be downloaded by clicking the below Play Store link.
