Independent XDA-developers recently released Android ROM based on LineageOS 13.0 for select Lumia Windows Phones. The most popular Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 are only eligible to install Android operating system. As both Lumias have been popular Windows Phones, it is very strange to see them running Android Nougat.
A lot of users have been successfully able to run Android on Lumia but it is limited in terms of features. Android runs better than Windows Phone 8.1 on the Lumia phone and as it is based on the Nougat update, you can enjoy most of the feature comes with the new Android Nougat update.
As we noted above, Android on Lumia has many known issues such as the cellular network, WiFi and even Bluetooth won’t work. The good news is that the developers have finally managed to enable WiFi and Bluetooth support on Lumia with Android. They are also working on to fix the cellular network bug in the OS and include more Lumias in the project. You can find the list of known issues below.
- Accelerometer does not work.
- There’s no sound over headphone jack.
- Only official digitizer is supported.
- Camera does not work.
- For some people SD cards don’t work.
