Microsoft has today pushed a new version of the KB3150513 patch that will prepare older Windows version (prior to version 1703) for the Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703). Microsoft has said that they will release Creators Update in waves depending on how the first wave users give feedback on the update when they started the first wave on 11th April.

Microsoft had since its release refined KB3150513 several times (currently at revision 33) so as to make the Creators Update available for more systems. It shows the message to users Preparing the transition to the Creators Update. Microsoft releases creators update for the next wave of users only when they have successfully completed bug fixing of issues reported by previous waves.

Microsoft has explained in the description of the patch that this update will provide the latest set of definitions for compatibility diagnostics that are performed on the system. The updated definitions with this update will enable Microsoft and its partners to ensure the compatibility of creators update for all who want to install the latest Windows operating system. Installing this update also makes sure that the latest Windows operating system version is correctly offered through Windows Update.
