Today, Windows 10 Mobile for selected Lumia devices has been officially announced by Microsoft. The operating system was demoed by Microsoft almost a year ago. Windows Insiders have been testing Windows 10 Mobile preview builds and shaping the OS with their valuable feedback.

Microsoft had promised to announce Windows 10 for older Lumias and other OEM Windows devices for the public at the end of last year, between November and December. However, Microsoft kept delaying the OS, and later last year, Microsoft promised that the update would begin rolling out to existing Lumias early this year.

To get Windows 10 Mobile on your phone, you need to download the Update Advisor app for your eligible Lumia device (refer to the list above).

Open the Update Advisor app on your Lumia and follow the steps listed on the screen.

Download the app to upgrade.
