Spotify’s Windows 10 app is getting a new update in the Microsoft Store with a set of improvements and bug fixes. If you’ve recently migrated from Groove Music to Spotify, you might find this update useful.

Spotify is adding a new option that would show credits with Writer and Producer info when you will right click or press and hold a song title. Spotify for Windows 10 has been updated to version 1.73.345.0 and this update includes performance related improvements along with bug fixes.

The update is of course not available for Windows Phone. Last year the high-profile company Spotify abandoned the Microsoft’s mobile platform citing the declining market share as the reason. In an announcement posted on the forums, Spotify said that Windows Phone app has been placed in maintenance and no new updates are planned.

“Spotify for Windows Phone has been placed into maintenance mode. Thus, we will only be making critical security updates to the current Spotify app and not releasing any new features nor improving support for old devices going forward. Users can continue to use Spotify on previously supported Windows Phones and Spotify will remain on the Windows Store,” Spotify said.

Apparently, developing apps for Windows Phone makes no sense as Android and iOS enjoy larger user base. Nonetheless, you can find good Spotify alternatives in the Microsoft Store for your Windows Phone.
