Panasonic today announced a new Windows 10 tablet, Toughpad FZ-G1 ATEX. The Windows 10 tablet is made for use in potentially explosive industries. Panasonic in known for its tough and rugged devices and the latest offering keeps the trend of the company intact.

The device comes with a 10.1 inch display with 14 hours of battery life. The tablet is powered by Windows 10 Pro and comes with a 6th gen Intel Core i5 6300u processor. The ATEX tablet comes with hot swappable battery providing support for a 2D barcode reader.

The device also comes with a GPS, micro SD Card option with a Wired LAN or smart card reader option as well. The Toughpad comes with  MIL-STD 810G and IP65 ratings which lets the device to stand up in any conditions and is perfect for users working mainly on installation or maintenance projects.

The company states: “Panasonic has been designing and building ATEX compliant rugged mobile computing devices since the safety standard was introduced 14 years ago… This latest rugged tablet is our most versatile ATEX mobile device to date, ensuring mobile workers in these safety sensitive industries have access to the same levels of computing power, functionality and design that other workers have. This is an intrinsically safe device without having to compromise on functionality and flexibility”

The company has also confirmed that the device will be priced at 3,028€ and will be made available from February 2018 starting with U.K.
