Microsoft is currently working on releasing a major update to its Teams app for Windows web and desktop application. The latest update will be bringing improved command box, better integration of Office 365 apps in the upcoming major release.

Microsoft plans to include a new command box which can be accessed from the top of the app making it easier for users to find what they are looking for. You will also be able to interact with Office apps from within the command box by just typing “@” symbol and selecting the relevant app from the drop down list.

With the new search bar you will also be able to search information from with in the app like news articles and more. New slash commands are also being added which lets users to quickly perform tasks like adding a new user to the team. You would need to just type “/” and check all the commands available.

A new Store icon has been added in the left sidebar which lets users to search for apps by mentioning their names, category and more. This option helps users to discover apps easily and without having to search for the apps individually.

It is now made easy to include information from any of the apps in conversations, for this  users would need to click on the new “….” button in the compose box bringing all the Office apps.

You will also be able to access recent items like OneNote notebooks, tasks and more by clicking on the new “….” button which has been added to the left sidebar. The new features will be rolled out to the web and desktop app of Microsoft Teams starting today for Windows.
