Microsoft had earlier announced that it would be releasing Office 365 desktop apps to be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. The company released its new Windows 10 S version which only allowed users to download apps from Microsoft Store.

Microsoft released the Office 365 desktop apps to Windows 10 S users and Windows Insiders albeit in preview mode. Today the company has officially released the Office 365 desktop apps which can be downloaded by all users directly from the Microsoft Store.

The Desktop apps include Word 2016, Excel 2016, PowerPoint 2016, Access 2016, Outlook 2016 and Publisher 2016. However OneNote 2016 has not been released as a part of the Office 365 Apps, instead Microsoft is wanting users to use the UWP OneNote app for Windows 10 users.

Microsoft has been releasing lot of features to the Universal OneNote app and is available for download with the Office 365 Apps. The Apps are available for download on all PCs but users to install the Office 365 Apps need to first uninstall the existing desktop apps and then search for the listings for your subscription.
