Microsoft has been working on increasing the Windows 10 market share at a faster pace by which is currently lagging behind the company’s Windows 7 operating system. If we go by the global market share trends Windows 7 is still the global leader as the desktop operating system.
However, reports from the US Government websites reveal that Windows 10 has crossed the percentage and is now the global leader taking its place from Windows 7. Windows 10 is now the top choice for users with it garnering a market share of 20.9% as against Windows 7 which remains at 20.7%.
This comes as some good news for the Redmond Giant which has been pushing very hard to make lot of users update to its latest operating system and to be up to date with the software.
However the above data reflects only the Windows 10 Operating system is being used by US government websites and could not be termed as a global market share to confirm that Windows 10 is actually the leader in terms of operating system moving ahead of Windows 7.
We would also like to remind our users that Microsoft will be ending support of Windows 7 in the next two years and Microsoft would be hoping to see more users updating to the company’s latest operating in the remaining time.
