Ever since Satya Nadella became Microsoft’s CEO, the company has been developing applications and services for all platforms and devices include Windows PCs, Android devices, iPhones, iPads and now Chromebooks. While last year Microsoft optimized its Office suite for Chromebooks, only a few devices could get it. Today, you can now download the Office suite on any device.

Microsoft has suddenly changed its strategy, the company has now released the Office productivity suite for all Chromebooks in the Google Play store. All devices can now download the Microsoft Office applications from the Google Play Store, no matter who manufactured the device.

The company, of course, wants to make money, as a result to edit any documents you will need to have an Office 365 subscription. The devices with screens larger than 10.1 inches need to be configured with an Office 365 subscription, and then only you can edit the documents on your Chromebook.

Microsoft isn’t cruel with the Google platform, the company has set this as a requirement that it has implemented on all platforms. If you don’t have the Office 365 subscription, the Office suite is nothing more than a document viewer.

Most of the Microsoft apps are quite popular in the Google Play Store and as the Redmond giant is improving the Office suite with monthly updates, the new Office suite would be a hit among the Chromebook users.
