Microsoft is slowly trying to bring Cortana closer to its popular messaging service Skype. Microsoft launched its digital personal assistant Cortana with Windows Phone 8.1 and since then the Redmond-based company is trying to bring Cortana to other platforms. When Microsoft launched Windows 10, the new OS also introduced Cortana on PCs and Tablets.

Later to take on Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri, Microsoft also ported Cortana to Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Cortana is popular on other platforms, Microsoft is also expanding Cortana to Amazon’s Alexa and even Skype. The company recently launched Cortana for Skype as a chat bot. The chat bot is available on Skype Preview and it lets you interact with the digital assistant.

Today, Microsoft is updating Cortana bot on Skype adding a new set of features. Cortana will now reply instantly to the sender with pre-configured messages. You can now also add Cortana to chat by clicking on the + icon and following the on-screen instructions.

The new update is rolling out to Skype Preview on Windows, Android and iOS. As you might have guessed already, Windows 10 version of Skype hasn’t received any Cortana related changes but the UWP app could be updated later after testing the new feature with Desktop, Android and iOS users.
