Microsoft has released a new tool that lets you install Windows 10 S on any PC for no additional cost. The tool is basically an installer and you can only install Windows 10 S if your PC has Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise or any other versions installed except Windows 10 Home.

Microsoft claims Windows 10 S to be a highly secure version of Windows 10. As Microsoft has blocked the installation of Win32 apps, Windows 10 S is superior in terms of performance. Windows 10 S deeply integrates with OneDrive so you will never have to worry about the storage on your PC.

The apps can be only installed via the Windows Store ensuring the best security. Microsoft Edge comes pre-installed with Windows 10 S and you cannot install Chrome or Firefox but some alternatives are available.

How to install Windows 10 S on PC

  • Visit Microsoft’s download page.
  • Click on Download Installer and open the tool.
  • The tool will download Windows 10 S and also install on your PC.

Windows 10 S is almost same as the Pro version. It comes with Windows Defender, Start Screen, Windows Store and all ongoing security features of Windows 10 are included.

No one can work without win32 apps , UWP apps are not strongly like win32,UWP have less functions at most apps, beside that all apps on windows 10 S need to installed on internet connection , and some poor country have limited internet connection , and cannot install windows 10 because this make extra money for internet connection , if Microsoft continued with this strategy they will kill windows 10 again like past killing windows 8 and 8.1.

    From the Microsoft page:
As stated above, devices running Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Pro Education, Windows 10 Education, or Windows 10 Enterprise can install and run Windows 10 S and it will automatically activate. Testing Windows 10 S on a device running Windows 10 Home is not recommended and supported at this time.

So a device running Windows 10 is not an option, the article states otherwise
