Microsoft with its latest Surface line up, Surface Laptop and Surface Pro has not included the USB C port. There were lot of users on the web who were unhappy by this decision of Microsoft.

Seeing a lot of displeasure on part of the consumers, Microsoft’s Surface Guru Panos Panay in an Interview to The Verge, revealed that Microsoft will be providing or appeasing the USB-C Lovers with a dongle for the buyers of Surface Pro and Surface Laptop.

Panos Panay remarked: “If you love Type-C, it means you love dongles… We’re giving a dongle to people who love dongles.”

The company says that the dongle is expected to be launched later this year and Panos also revealed that the dongle would slot into the Surface connector port on the device stating:

“If you want to charge a device with a Type-C charger, you can. If you want to put data back and forth with a Type-C peripheral, you can.”

Panos also revealed that Microsoft had learned a lesson with the Surface 3 which impacted the company’s decision to not include a USB C to the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro. The decision has also been made on the grounds that the company feels that the USB-C isn’t just ready for the mainstream.
