Microsoft has confirmed that with the upcoming Windows 10 Creators update next month, the Edge browser will be supporting CSS Custom Properties which will allow developers to fully cascade variables.

Web applications generally contain quite a bit of CSS. Altering them would be difficult and results in errors. To solve this issue Microsoft will be releasing CSS Custom Properties which is a family of custom author defined properties and help developers use those values elsewhere in the document.

The Custom Properties will make editing much easier and it will propagate all uses of that automatically. The developers can try the new CSS Custom Properties in the recently released Windows Insider Preview Builds with EdgeHTML 15.15061.
