Microsoft is slowly but surely working on bringing some cool new features to its Personal Assistant Cortana with the new Creators Update for Windows 10 and Mobile 10. Below are the new features the company plans to release with the coming Insiders Preview Builds for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

Below are the New Features:

  • Universal Clipboard

Enables you to sync content from the clipboard between devices. With the Creators Update in Settings, you will find two options for you to switch in this feature:

  1. Toggles a preview of the contents of the clipboard that you are about to sync.
  2. Allows a notification to report synchronization progress.

Cortana will also recognize the words “Copy To”, whether written or voice.

  • True Notification Sync

This feature allows you to sync notifications from your phone to your PC and Vice Versa. To sync notifications from a device to another device, you’ll need to register as “trusted” in the Cortana settings. Below is the list of how this will work:

    • Allow this device to receive notifications from other devices.
    • Send notifications from this PC to the cloud.
    • This helps prevent you from receiving the same notification twice.
  • Unlock PC with smartphone

In addition to Windows Hello with its security mechanisms via biometrics, it will also be possible to use Cortana on your device with Windows 10 Mobile to unlock your computer as well.

These features are expected to arrive with the latest Insider Builds for Creators Update and the Fast Ring Insiders will be the first people to test these features once they are released with the next Insider Preview Build in the coming new year.
