A while ago, Microsoft and Amazon announced their partnership to bring Cortana and Alexa closer on their respective platforms. After almost one year, Amazon Alexa is now available on Windows 10 devices and both digital assistant can now talk to each other.
You will be able to tell the Amazon Echo, ā€¯Alexa, open Cortana”. Similarly, you can ask Cortana to open Alexa on Windows 10 devices.
“Alexa customers will be able to access Cortanaā€™s unique features like booking a meeting or accessing work calendars, reminding you to pick up flowers on your way home, or reading your work email ā€“ all using just your voice. Similarly, Cortana customers can ask Alexa to control their smart home devices, shop onĀ Amazon.com, interact with many of the more than 20,000 skills built by third-party developers, and much more,” Microsoft said.
Today, a new report from a German site claims Amazon is working on a UWP Alexa app that will be published in the Microsoft Store so you can use it on any device including the Windows 10 in S mode devices.
