Now that Microsoft and Qualcomm finally delivered Windows 10 on ARM, which they promised a year ago, we will be giving an insight view to the products that were launched in today’s Qualcomm’s event. There were two ARM laptops launched at today’s event, one came from the ASUS and another from HP. HP and ASUS have reportedly worked with Microsoft very closely to make this a reality. Both of the devices have LTE connectivity built into it which makes them Ultra mobile PCs.

“Today, at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, I stood with Cristiano Amon, President of Qualcomm Chips, and we delivered on the promise that we made then. Along with our hardware partners HP and Asus, we showed the world the first full featured Always Connected PCs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset running Windows 10 and a new, optimized version of Office 365. ASUS and HP have worked hand in hand with us to deliver on pushing the boundaries of what a PC can do, and we continue to work closely with Lenovo as they build their own Always Connected PC,” Myerson writes.

ASUS NovaGo

Asus NovaGo is the world’s first Gigabit LTE laptop with superfast download speeds which will allow users to download anything within seconds. NovaGo is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor which runs most of today’s flagships. Just that the NovaGo is running a mobile processor does not put the device into isolation. It has some edge over the Intel-powered laptops. Always connected to a battery supporting 30 days of standby and 22 hours of active use.

ASUS NovaGo is a convertible laptop with 13.3-inch 1080p display. The device with 4GB RAM and 64GB SSD will be available for $599, the one with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $799.

HP ENVY x2

The HP ENVY x2 combines the best of Windows and with the smartphone freedom. ENVY x2 is incredibly thin, light, durable and of course always connected, the HP ENVY x2 offers lightning-fast 4G LTE2 and Wi-Fi. With up to 20 hours of active use battery life, the detachable PC provides flexibility and connectivity to perform daily tasks while on the go.

The device is just 6.9mm thin and 1.54 pounds, it has 8GB of LPDDR4X PoP RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The device runs Windows 10 S out of the box, you will however able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. HP Envy x2 is slated to launch next sprint, the company hasn’t provided the pricing and availability details yet.

All the promises that are made by the two tech giants are an indication of great future for innovation in the tech industry. Whether these devices live up to their expectations or not we are sure of one thing that it will create a homogeneous opportunity to take this revolution forward. PC market is not falling it is just the beginning of an ERA.
