Microsoft recently announced the new Skip Ahead option in Windows 10 for Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring. You can skip ahead to the next Windows 10 if you have the option toggled on our PC. In case you missed, Microsoft has also paused the release of new app updates to Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring. However, if you have the Skip Ahead option enabled, you’ll also get access to latest app updates.

Windows Insiders had almost one week to opt-in for Redstone 4 Builds via the Skip Ahead option. As expected, the Skip Ahead option is now closed. If you open the settings > Windows Insider program page, the skip ahead option has been greyed out. It also displays a message that reads “Skip Ahead is now closed”.

It means you cannot get the Redstone 4 builds now and you will have to wait till Fall Creators Update public release. Microsoft has disabled the feature as they still need Windows Insiders with the Fall Creators Update build to fix the bugs and gather the feedback before public release.

“Once the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is released to the general public, this skip ahead option will go away and the Fast ring will be back to receiving builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch for the next Windows 10 release and inbox app updates from the Store will be fully restored to all Windows Insiders in the Fast and Slow rings,” Microsoft explained.
