Google Chrome is the most used web browser. Well of course it cannot compete the Microsoft Edge in the various test such as battery life and more.
Recently Microsoft notifying Windows 10 users to use Microsoft Edge instead of any other browser. Once in a while we all experience this popup notification. And on another we got Google Chrome. Google now acknowledge the battery consumption issue and working very actively on it.
For the same reason, they announced that they are making some changes to improve the battery life. In case if you don’t know only background tabs consume a third of Chrome’s power usage on desktop. So now with the Chrome 57, they will quell individual background tabs by limiting the timer fire rate for background tabs.
In other words via new policy, “Chrome 57 will delay timers to limit average CPU load to 1% of a core if an application uses too much CPU in background.” In addition to that Google also announced that they will continue to work in this direction to increase battery life.
