Microsoft Store on PC

Microsoft last week rolled out a new design for the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and it aligns with the web version more closely. It appears that Microsoft has quietly pushed yet another update for Microsoft Store on Windows 10 with new “Departments” section.

Microsoft was A/B testing the “departments” section with Windows Insiders but starting this week, it is now available for everyone. Just like the previous update, this release also appears to be rolling out now via a server-side switch from Microsoft, rather than an app update.

Just in case you’re wondering, the latest version of Microsoft Store for Release Preview Ring Insiders is 11807.1001.1.0. You’ll find this new section “Departments” just before search option. If you aren’t seeing the new departments option, sit tight as it will arrive on your PC soon.

Clicking on departments option will bring another menu that lets you quickly find the relevant apps and products. There are four different categories – Software & apps, Entertainment, Devices, Deals.
