Microsoft is rolling out a new firmware update for its Surface Laptop users. The update is available for all Surface Laptop users irrespective of the Windows 10 version.

This is the first firmware update which is being rolled out after the company rolled out patching updates for the Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities in early January.

The Meltdown and Spectre security flaw is very critical since it helps the attackers to be able to steal sensitive data from the PCs and Smartphones affected by the vulnerability. The security flaw has been mainly detected in the processors from Intel along with AMD and ARM chipsets.

Spectre is reported to be a security flaw which effects select smartphones allowing attackers to access sensitive data. Microsoft has made sure to push out fixes for the Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities for all its devices which includes Desktops, Laptops and Smartphones.

The Firmware Update with version 135.2114.3.0 is available for download which basically brings improvements to the battery performance for Surface Laptop users.

The update apart from improving the battery performance also improves the reliability of the device without effecting the security, connectivity, compatibility and performance of the device.

The latest Firmware update is currently available for download via Windows Update and as has been reported above is available for all Surface Laptop users irrespective of the Windows 10 versions installed.
