It’s been a while since Microsoft announced the Surface Pro (2017) in Shanghai, China. The Microsoft’s Panos and a team of executives took the wraps off its new ultimate Windows 10 laptop and named it Surface Pro, apart from the new name, it comes with some new additions.
After almost one year of global launch, Microsoft is finally launching the newest Surface Pro in India, and the most expensive variant will be available for Rs 182,999 ($2,816). The Surface Pro (2017) will be available in online stories including Microsoft Store, Amazon and Flipkart. Reliance, Croma and other 130 commercial authorized retailers in India will be also selling the Microsoft’s latest laptop.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of Surface Pro in India and offer our consumers another superior device that will enable them create, study, work and play virtually anywhere.” said Vineet Durani, Director – Windows and Devices, Microsoft India.
The new Surface Pro provides better battery life, thanks to the underhood tweaks which are substantial, and the software giant has also improved the hinge mechanism. Similarly, the screen of the device has been updated with better pen technology, and it comes with softer edges.
“We continue to push boundaries to better serve the needs of our customers who are seeking greater mobility and power in their devices to stay productive. The new Surface Pro delivers the versatility of a laptop and a creative studio in one thin, lightweight device,” the company said.
The Surface Pro redesign is a worthwhile endeavor since the company has also included a new Whiteboard software that offers simultaneous collaboration and live multi-device inking. The Redmond giant has improved the hardware, but the overall look of the Surface Pro remains the same, the design is almost identical to previous iterations.
Surface Pro (2017) Price in India
The Surface Pro will soon become available for purchase in India from leading retailers, the cheapest variant with Intel Core m3, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD will be available for Rs 64,999, while Microsoft plans to sell Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD variant for Rs 182,999.
