Microsoft yesterday pushed out a new Firmware update for its Surface Pro 3 device which is available for download. The latest Firmware Update comes with fixes for the recent Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities which affected lot of devices.

The latest Firmware version v3.11.2350.0 is available for download which is pushed out to resolve the security vulnerabilities mainly for the Meltdown and Spectre. Meltdown and Spectre have been recently discovered as two critical security vulnerabilities especially in Intel chipsets.

The Meltdown and Spectre security flaw is very critical since it helps the attackers to be able to steal sensitive data from the PCs and Smartphones affected by the vulnerability. The security flaw has been mainly detected in the processors from Intel along with AMD and ARM chipsets.

Meltdown has been reported as a security flaw in the hardware design of the chipsets with Intel processors which has been reported to having not only affected Desktops, Smartphones but also some of the noted Cloud services.

Spectre is reported to be a security flaw which effects select smartphones allowing attackers to access sensitive data. Microsoft has made sure to push out fixes for the Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities for all its devices which includes Desktops, Laptops and Smartphones.

Along with Microsoft, Apple and Google has also made sure to push out fixes for its devices for the Vulnerabilities discovered to secure the data of their users. The companies have also requested users to make sure that they are not affected by the Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities they would need to update their device regularly.

Microsoft pushed out updates for its Windows Operating system to make sure the users of Windows 10, 8.1 and Windows 7 stay up to date by updating their devices with the Cumulative Update released last week.
