Microsoft last week released a new Xbox One Insider Preview build for the Alpha ring insiders enrolled in the Xbox Insider Program. The new build is available with version 1802.180109-1916.
The latest Insider Preview build brings some new features apart from the regular list of known issues and fixes. In the latest Xbox Insider build, Microsoft has now included new Scheduled Themes feature.
The Scheduled theme features lets users to set time to switch the theme from Light to Dark and vice versa. You would need to go to Settings> Personalization> Theme and Motion to enable the scheduled theme feature. You will be able to set time for the start and end of Light theme or dark theme and vice versa.
A new icon for Game Pass Discovery Tile has also been added in the Guide. This option will be visible only for gamers with subscribed Xbox Game Pass since its provide with a new game to play.
Apart from introducing the Scheduled Themes and Game Pass Discovery Tile, the Xbox team has also fixed some issues which occurred in the previous updates. The team has fixed an issue which caused the screenshots to fail to display in Report a problem on the console.
As is the case with every insider builds users or gamers are bound to have some known issues also and this new Alpha build is no exception. You will notice the progress bar and percentage complete will not sync properly and show inaccurate data when trying to download and install games. This issue is expected to be fixed in the next build.
The console at start up while trying to download the system update will now be throwing an Error E105, a temporary workaround would be to select the Repair option and rebooting the console will temporarily solve the issue.
One of the other known issue with this build is the installed games failing to launch. The team is working on this and a permanent fix will be rolled out in an upcoming build. As a workaround you need to re download or copy the game to the internal drive which should fix the issue temporarily.
Xbox Insiders on Alpha ring should be seeing this build now and can download it by going to Settings>Updates & Security>Check for Updates. For Non Insiders Microsoft should be pushing out the new features along with fixes for the issues in coming days or weeks.
