Microsoft in partnership with Johnson Controls has been working on creating the GLAS, a thermostat which would be powered by Microsoft’s Digital Assistant Cortana. Now the company has confirmed that the First Cortana powered thermostat will be available for pre order in March 2018.

The GLAS is run on Windows 10 IoT Core and can continuously monitor air quality and humidity in the home and also adjust the temperature to save energy. GLAS comes with a OLED touchscreen display with direct controls and you can use voice commands to adjust the temperature, know about the current weather forecast and more.

Microsoft explained that Cortana will also help you to manage your calendar, inform you of the traffic, answer questions and more which is displayed in one place on the OLED touchscreen.

The GLAS thermostat will always be connected to the Internet which helps to adapt to the schedule and also adjust the temperature of the house in your absence. You will also be able to change the temperature from anywhere with the help of the GLAS smart thermostat app which is available for iOS, Android and Windows 10. The GLAS thermostat is available for a retail price of $319.
