Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out a new preview build for Windows 10 devices on the Fast Ring. The new preview build for Windows 10 comes with new feature and major improvements. But like any build on the Fast Ring, it also comes with a list of known issues. Microsoft has updated the Windows 10 Build 17063 known issues list to include three new bugs.
Microsoft has finally acknowledged a bug where the system won’t activate after installing the Windows 10 Build 17063. On the Windows Activation settings page, the system will throw an error that Windows “needs activation” and trying to activate it would fail.
“We are investigating reports that Windows shows that it “needs activation” and trying to activate fails after upgrading to Build 17063,” Microsoft explains in the updated blog post.
The other known issues include:
- While navigating through OOBE, some of the buttons in the pages may not display correctly. In case of running into this, use the keyboard and tab forward through the page’s controls, or hover over blank areas of the screen and buttons will be rendered in the process. This should unblock you and allow you to continue through the OOBE flow.
- Audio may not work in certain apps like Firefox after upgrading to Build 17063.
Windows 10 Build 17063 is the first build to include an early look at Timeline, the feature Microsoft announced at Build event, earlier this year. This feature basically gives freedom to users to close apps, as with Timeline you can get right back to where you left off.
