Microsoft recently partnered with NFL to provide them with Surface Windows 10 devices. Microsoft’s partnership with NFL has so far received mixed reactions, although Surface devices are great to be used on the sidelines of every game, last year NFL head coach had given up on the Microsoft tablets for the paper.

Microsoft, however, is very keen on continuing its partnership with the NFL, the Redmond giant has recently renewed the deal with NFL, quietly without any press release. A report claims that the owners were told about the deal during meetings last week.

Back in 2016, Microsoft faced criticism because of the different opinions shared from coaches and players. “We love the NFL. We love the game, the players, the coaches, and the fans. We have deep respect for the teams – and the IT Pro’s who work tirelessly behind the scenes to help them succeed,” Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft said in a blog post.

In the blog post, Microsoft explained that many people still find the Surface devices useful in the sports, despite the recent criticism. In the same post, Mehdi explained that the NFL sideline is the toughest office for the Surface tablets.

“Surface devices have become ubiquitous on NFL sidelines and in the coaches’ booth, and more than half of NFL franchises are using Surfaces end-to-end, as playbooks, to watch video and as a laptop replacement in their front office to handle the administrative duties of running the team,” Microsoft explained.
