Windows 10’s Skype UWP app is getting a new update with improvements on the Fast Ring. The update for Skype includes general bug fixes, performance related improvement and the update also enables full support for notification panel.

A few days ago, Microsoft rolled out a major update to Skype UWP app for both Windows 10 Mobile and PC. While the update brought minor changes to the mobile version, Microsoft introduced a brand new notification panel on the desktop. The notification panel was first introduced on the rival platforms is now available for Windows 10.

The latest update for Skype improves the notification panel, the feature now works on all devices without making any modifications to the system. The updated version of Skype is 12.9.577, available for the Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring, but only for the desktop users.

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, Microsoft has also added a new pop-up notification to describe the new features. The last update for Skype also added instant chat feature, to compete with WhatsApp, the feature allows you to add your friends as contacts and start a group conversation.

Microsoft also added the ability to express your mood during a call with emotions and even reactions. The other changes include integration with Windows Mixed Reality platform, it basically allows users to share the virtual world through a video chat in Windows Mixed Reality.
